Professional Experience
Mr. Chandler is a Senior Development Planner in the firm. Prior to that, Mr. Chandler served as a Senior Planner with the City of San Antonio Planning Department, Historic Preservation Office. His primary responsibilities included administration and policy development of the local historic tax incentive program, primary staff contact with the Historic and Design Review Commission, general policy and code development, and serving as a neighborhood liaison.
After completion of his Master’s Degree, he began his career with the Planning Department’s Neighborhood and Urban Design Division, where he worked on neighborhood and community plans, as well as historic preservation-focused special projects, including the development of historic tax incentives to encourage preservation and the successful submittal of a $2.89 million grant application to fund the rehabilitation of the Hays Street Bridge for use as a hike and bike facility through TEA-21 (Transportation Equity Act for the 21st century) federal enhancement funding.
Details of Practice
Municipal Approvals. Mr. Chandler assists with the management of zoning, subdivision, site plan, building permit and variance request processes for owners/developers. He interacts with neighborhood associations, City Staff, City Council and Boards and Commissions, as well as other stakeholder groups throughout the development process.
