Professional Experience
Mr. von Kreisler is a partner with the firm. Prior to this, he was a partner with Drenner Stuart Wolff Metcalfe von Kreisler, L.L.P. since its inception in May 2000. He was a partner and associate for 6 years with Drenner & Stuart, LLP. He had previously spent 5 years in the Austin office of Baker & Botts, LLP, as an associate in that firm's finance section.
Mr. von Kreisler has worked primarily as a real estate attorney since 1994, having previously practiced in the areas of bankruptcy and secured lending.
Details of Practice
Real Estate. Mr. von Kreisler represents land owners and developers in many aspects of their commercial real estate business, including site acquisitions and sales, project planning and development, partnership and corporate formations, leasing, interim and permanent financing, like-kind exchanges, build-to-suits and ground leases, and sale-leaseback programs. His practice encompasses many types of real estate projects - retail shopping centers, office buildings, industrial projects and business parks, and restaurant pads. Having previously represented lending institutions and mortgage lenders, he also has experience in representing both landlords and tenants in various types of office, industrial, retail and restaurant leases, as well as national retail end-users in the leasing and other acquisition of retail space.
Business. Mr. von Kreisler also represents clients in acquisitions and dispositions of business concerns, involving both asset transactions and stock transactions. His practice in this area has included the formation of acquisition entities, the performance of due diligence investigations, and the negotiation and documentation of purchase agreements, employment agreements and non-competition agreements, as well as credit facilities and security instruments. He has also represented business clients in their start-up of new business concerns and securing of credit facilities.
