Professional Experience
Mr. Mills is an associate with the firm. Previously, since 2000, he was an associate with Drenner Stuart Wolff Metcalfe von Kreisler, L.L.P., primarily serving commercial real estate clients. Prior to that, he served for 6 years as an attorney in, and then as Director of, the Real Estate Section-Legal Division of the Texas General Land Office, the agency that manages over 800,000 acres of state-owned real estate. He began his career in private practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico before moving back to Austin. Mr. Mills has worked as a real estate attorney for most of his legal career.

Details of Practice
Transactional. Mr. Mills has represented owners and developers of land in many aspects of their business, including site acquisition work, municipal approvals, negotiations, leasing, sales, loan workouts and environmental problems. Mr. Mills has worked on many types of real estate projects - office buildings, industrial projects, apartments, condominiums, retail shopping centers and mixed-use projects.

Municipal Approvals. Mr. Mills spends a portion of his time helping the firm's owner/developer clients obtain necessary municipal approvals for their projects. In order to do so, he has familiarity with municipal, county, state, and federal ordinances and laws impacting property rights. He has experience with projects in the City of Austin, as well as other municipalities in Central Texas and elsewhere.

Other Activities
In addition to practicing law, Mr. Mills also plays trombone, and has performed with Ella Fitzgerald, the Temptations, Marcia Ball, Alejandro Escovedo, and many other groups and performers.
